Poem: Malykatu

Malykatu

young cars and old clouds.

foothills hide secrets from skyscrapers.

no shaggy animals here.

Some Bird of Fire blinked and the glaciers went.

some Ant Spirit took over,

dominating us two-legs.

crowds are now many,

like never existed anywhere anyhow.

conquests and wonders

crawl thick over Earth's ancient skin.

sharp, straight lines disrupt Earth's face.

sharp enough to cut through baskets--

of animals, of plants, of tales of kindness

once woven every day.
