Poem: Seasoned

Seasoned

gushes of green,

a planet-sized rush,

unable to stopper

the primal hunger,

riding it full crave,

headlong of flutter,

a gallop toward the sun,

always the sun,

chasing that chariot,

gilt of the golden gift,

lush of leafy stampede--

how it scintillates

and stings as legions rise,

brazen and zealous,

thickening and ripe,

strong with solar pulse,

over and over, so much

power only to darken and

wither into a grimace of masks.

outraged now, sunken down,

impaled on a sward.
