Sea Party
sweet sparkles of charm
minnows swerve
shoal quick
through gossip soft and sneaky
as anemone fronds.
crude next
within obscene jaws
wide as a sperm whale
or defensive as crab shell
over wet martinis
on the rocks.
sooner or later
tentacles feast on the claws
cracking their sarcasm
to blend it with roe
or salmon pâté.
whatever it was,
blame the moon
as the night twists
to crowd out surface,
shifting into shadows.
hints of wolf eel
and shark.
