Poem: Leaves

 Leaves

supple yet wizened,

gleeful, calm or wild,

pigments of an astrolabe

the wind espies

to ford flutters and clouds.

they dapple puddles

vermilion and amber,

flare with inextinguishable bliss.

rain enprisms them.

orgies of nymphs

drink from their cups.

with semblances of a poem,

half-syllabled, rustled,

yet perfect of phrase,

they conjure a midnight kiss,

savor the sway

of a curvaceous universe.

questions fall away, then,

satisified and serene,

below a foliage of stars.
