Poem: Back Alive

 

Back Alive

 

what could be more awesome

or maybe no?

it depended on the whys

of the great perspective.

on a scale of mythic hows and whats.

on forces unseen yet sought.

on which god bent which river.

 

to praise

and yet curse the answerless birth-questions.

to yowl on the edge of cosmic waves.

to look down at things,

the push and pull, sting and hunger.

and the inevitable crash 

of such infinite joy--

that was the answer.
