Poem: In and Out

In and Out

walls keep out

leaf and panicle,

embraces slats

of plundered xylem.

dead plankton foams

in gypsum stolen.

lysol and bleach

for any incursion.

skull-clad cans

greet any ant-ful invaders.

a spider’s textile

lacks lemony aerosol

after all.

zoom zoom zoom

swat that fly, too much zest,

much life must perish

before we take ease.
